Appologies to all of those who tried to access the site yesterday.
The server was down (again) for about 12 hours for reasons outside my control - some host issues.

CACHE-Community have now acted on this, and have moved the site over to a new web host, which is hopefully a little more reliable. Hopefully, there will be no issues arising from this move, but if we get a few gliches over the next few days, please dont worry, it'll just be a few little things that need ironing out.

Thanks for your patience, and your continued support everyone.  Afro

Thankfully the server change has been very smooth, and no problems have arisen. Smiley

If you do spot anything though, just let us know, and we'll rectify it as soon as we can. Thanks

I hope you gave the previous host a good kicking.

(By the way there's a spelling mistake on the title to this thread......Not that I'm picking fault or anything)

The 99.9% uptime guarantee, seems to be a standard advertising slogan that most hosts use nowadays, but very few can actually live up too.
Some of the more responsible hosts though will show you their server records of when and how long the servers have been offline over the last few months, so you can make a more informed decision if that host is the right one for you.
For some sites, the odd few hours downtime here and there simply doesnt matter, but for many others such as CACHE-Community here it can be a much bigger problem for both users and admins alike.
I do hope things work out much better for you now, on your new server.

Well we've been on the new hosting for a little while now, and so far the server has remained online!! Smiley Smiley Smiley
I have noticed that every now and again, the server does slow down slightly (which I am working on), but I would prefer this than to lose the server altogether for 12 hours+ at a time.
Does anyone have any comments on the new hosting arrangements? Do you notice any speed increases/decreases, if so how often?
Is anyone else interested in getting any hosting for themselves? (if so, please PM me, and I will sort you out a great quote, and plenty of features)
Any other comments?

Obviousley im on the same server as you cache-man but i have had no such speed changes, with my new site which im working on tho i have noticed changes but it all seems to be with the loading speed of SMF Forum, I dont know why this is or if it is the problem as im no expert.
Thanks for the deal you gave me for hosting anyhow.
Cheers.
